The "Home Alone" story, told with pug puppies

"Home Alone" gets a new cast of pug puppies, and a little pup plays the boy who gets left at home for Christmas. more

If you know the film, you know the plot. Kevin gets grounded before his family flies to France for the holidays, and they leave him behind by mistake. On the plane his mom says, "I feel like we forgot something." Back home, Kevin is sure his wish came true. "I made my family disappear."

Here Kevin is a pug puppy, and the whole story runs about two minutes. A child tells it from start to finish, and fans love that small voice. One praises the kid for getting through it all without forgetting a word.

Soon two burglars, the Wet Bandits, come to rob the house. Kevin sets up fake people so they'll think the family is home, and here the fake people are action figures in the window, moved by a puppy tugging on strings. One fan couldn't stop laughing at that part.

Then come the traps, starting with Christmas ornaments on the floor for the robbers to step on. "This is my house," Kevin says, "and I have to defend it." A door handle gets hot enough to burn, and his big brother's tarantula ends up on a robber's head.

Last comes a zip line to the tree house. The robbers get stuck halfway across, Kevin cuts the line, and the story ends with the bad guys in jail and Kevin just fine.

One fan renames it Pug Alone. Another calls it a new favorite Christmas movie, and it's hard to root against a hero that small.
