Pet coyote rolls over so the cat can pounce
A family with a tame coyote brought home a rescued calico cat, which sounds like the start of a problem. It wasn't one for long. more
Size should have settled things. The coyote is far bigger than the cat, and coyotes aren't known for being gentle with cats. Instead the two became best friends, and quickly.
Now they wrestle all over the house. The coyote circles, the cat leaps, and the coyote flops over, belly up and mouth open, which in coyote terms is about as friendly as it gets.
They take turns at that trick. One flops over belly-up, the other can't resist the pounce, and then they switch. The cat is fearless about all of it.
The coyote seems to know how much is enough. When the cat looks overwhelmed, the coyote lies down, looks away and waits for the cat to start the next round.
SaveThe strangest part is the sound, or the lack of it. For all the running and wrestling, the two hardly make a noise. There's no hissing and no snarling, just two friends who know the rules.
Again and again, the coyote ends up belly-up on the floor for a small calico. Then the cat pounces, and the game goes on.
