When Betty White sent Ryan Reynolds for coffee

Ryan says hi and asks how she's doing. "Uh, Brian," Betty replies. He reminds her that his name is Ryan. She tells him to get her a cup of coffee.

They have been working together for weeks, he points out. Months, really. "Months now, Dan," Betty says. "You've been a terrible assistant that whole time."

Ryan's side of the feud is mostly hurt feelings. "She hates me, and I don't really understand why," he says. A rule gets laid down for good: when Betty White says she wants a cup of coffee, you get her a cup of coffee. Then Ryan tells her how it is. She seems like "an adorable sweet old lady on the outside," he says, but inside she is "this seething demon."

To mark Betty's 99th birthday, Ryan posted the old sketches to his Instagram stories. She may be 99, he wrote, but she's 100 percent the funniest person on the planet. More than 50 years younger, he still loses every round.

Back when they made them, Ryan told Entertainment Tonight they started with a basic idea and riffed. "They just said, let's bring you all together and let's just shoot a funny video, and we did." The version that got out was the clean one, he added. In the other, Betty is much more nasty: "I think she's like sharpening the bone of some orphan about to stab me with it."

He called her insanely funny, with a knack for blue humor you would never expect from a woman her age. Asked about her birthday, Betty said that as for visitors, she was "feeding the two ducks who come to visit me every day."

Ryan's favorite memory is her last day of shooting on "The Proposal." As she walked out the door, the crew gave her a standing ovation, and she raised her hand. "This is the most fun I've ever had," she told them, and they all went, "Oh." Then she added, "Standing up," and walked out of the room, which Ryan said was like she "invented the mic drop before the mic dropped."
