A whole conversation between two cats
Two cats are having a conversation, and not with a person. They're talking to each other, one meow at a time, taking turns like a pair of old friends. more
One cat says something short. The other answers. The first comes back, and so it goes, each waiting until the other has finished. Grown cats are said to save most of their meows for people, which is part of why this pair is so hard to stop listening to.
Plenty of listeners swear they can make out words, and more than a few have written out what they think the cats are saying. The line that sticks is 'are you okay', answered by what sounds like 'I'm okay', and then the same question again, just to be sure. Others hear two great thinkers working out a big idea.
SaveWhat makes it so easy to sit with is the calm. The two cats sit close and keep their voices low, as if the talk is meant only for each other. People say they could listen for hours, and one called it the most peaceful conversation in years.
Before long, one cat starts licking the other. Whatever the two of them were talking over, it seems to have gone well.
