How a baby chipmunk gets a lift back to his nest

Getting this baby chipmunk home is the hard part. Home is a nest by an air conditioner, partway up the wall of an apartment building. more

He fell out of that nest, and a woman found him. By the time rescuers from Animal Aid Unlimited in India arrive at her apartment, she has him tucked in the top of a box.

One of the men looks him over and finds nothing wrong. The baby wiggles around in the box top, far too small to climb back up on his own. Now the only question is how to get him back up.

The baby gets a once-over in the box top before the climb.

The answer is a rope. One rescuer goes down to the bottom of the building while two others head for the roof and drop a rope and a harness to him. He straps in and they hoist him up the wall, carrying the baby in the box top.

When he reaches the air conditioner, the mother chipmunk is calling frantically. His back hides what his hands are doing, but it looks like he slips the baby into the nest.
