First trip to the groomer for a palm-size poodle
The puppy is three months old and could sit in the palm of your hand. It's his first visit to the groomer, so before anything else, they set him down and let him walk around. more
He takes his time and gets used to the place. That matters, because this little guy will be back at the groomer often. A commenter joked that if he went down a normal staircase, he would do three front flips per step.
The ears come first. They need a good cleaning so they do not get infected, and it can't feel great to a puppy this small. The groomer keeps her hands gentle and her touches soft, and then he goes into a large basin.
He's very good about his bath. He stands still while the groomer soaps him with light little dabs, as careful as she can be. For the rinse he moves to an even smaller pail, and someone sets a little flower on him.
SaveThen comes the blow-dryer. The groomer combs while she dries, working out knots and clumps so the haircut will go smoothly, and his coat puffs up as it dries. One viewer called that the best part, the moment his hair went floof. By the end he looks ready to nod off, and soon he is asleep, curled up on a cushion.
SaveThe trim takes the longest. Cutting the coat on a dog this size calls for a sure, precise hand, and one viewer pointed out how much patience the groomer has.
Not every viewer could watch calmly. One admitted that the scissors near his face made their own hands shake. He sits through it, and at one point the whole puppy rests in a single hand.
SaveHe comes out neat and tidy, with every spot trimmed just right. The top comment, liked by tens of thousands of people, sums him up. That is not a dog. That's a teddy bear.
