Millie, the Maltipoo puppy who won't stay put

Oliver is a Maltese and Zoe is a Miniature Poodle. Put them together and you get four Maltipoo puppies, and one of them, Millie, has plans. more

They live in a grand house called Maltipoo Manor, with wide grounds outside. Zoe and Oliver are first-time parents, and young ones at that. When the pups are a few days old, the only frolicking happens in their dreams.

Zoe is a nervous new mom. She checks her babies again and again, just to make sure they are all where she left them. Oliver keeps his distance at first. Then one day, with naptime safely underway, he decides it is okay to get closer.

That's when Millie gives him more than he bargained for. Before Oliver knows it, she has scooted out onto the cold wood floor. Zoe is nowhere in sight, and the family cat is no help at all. Luckily Zoe is soon back to straighten things out.

At four weeks the pups are bouncing around, so Zoe leaves them with Oliver in the living room. Millie starts working on a way out, and Oliver, fairly sure that is not allowed, goes to find Zoe. With Dad gone, Millie helps herself, and after a little trial and a couple of errors she breaks free. When she turns up, Oliver is so relieved that he hasn't yet worked out what to do with her.

At five weeks Millie wants to play, but her parents' toys always seem to sit just out of reach. So when Zoe and Oliver head outside, she finds her own fun in a small room full of things she has never seen, including the toilet paper. Soon all four pups are wrapped up in her mischief. Her parents can't stay mad at their troublesome little girl for long, since they were puppies not so long ago.

At six weeks the sun is out, and Oliver and Zoe bring the pups out onto the sprawling grounds. That much grass is a lot of room for four small dogs, and they use it.

Zoe is eager to teach her most challenging pup a game made for puppies. That pup, of course, is Millie.

Then the day comes for the puppies to graduate to their permanent home. Out in the sun, a smiling woman holds one of them, a small blue bow tied on top.
