A rescue dog from Romania sleeps easy at last
For most of her life, Bella lived in a crowded shelter in Romania, where she did not get nearly enough food, water, attention or exercise. more
Then a rescue group called Howl of a Dog came to the pound. Something about this black-and-white dog stood out to them, and they took her in. She has the look of a Border Collie, or something close to one.
There was work to do before she was ready for a family. Bella was groomed, got the medicine she needed and spent time with the other dogs at the rescue. She went along with every bit of it.
It didn't take long after that. A family in Germany adopted her, and at six years old, Bella had a home of her own.
SaveHer days look nothing like the old ones. There's time to play now, and there are people to give her love to.
The sweetest part of her rescue is a quiet one. Bella lies tucked against a person's arm with her eyes closed, sound asleep, relaxed for the first time in her life.
SaveShe looks safe, and she looks at peace. For a dog who went so long with so little, a deep sleep in good company says plenty.
