Lost pup asks a jogger for a belly rub

A man is out jogging in Greece when he meets a small white dog alone in a field. more

He is hardly more than a puppy. The field sits about a quarter of a mile from a busy street, which is no place for a little dog to be lost. He comes close, then stops up on a concrete edge, not sure yet if this stranger is good news.

It does not take him long to make up his mind. He hops down and runs circles around the man, wagging his tail like mad. Then he gives in completely, rolls onto his back and asks for a belly rub. The jogger is glad to oblige.

The man had his phone with him, which is the only reason the rest of us get to see this. He can't take the pup home himself, so he does the next best thing. He gives him food and water, then calls animal control.

Plenty of people wish they had been on that run. Many say they would have scooped him up and taken him home that same day, and others keep asking how he is doing now. One person took a long look at all that fluffy white fur and decided this was a sheep that acts like a dog.

The happy part is real. The puppy now has a loving forever home, and his new family has a whole lot of energy on their hands. If he greets them the way he greeted one jogger in a field, they get a belly-up hello at the door.
