A rescue pit bull's idea of yard work

Elwood is a rescued pit bull with one clear career goal. He wants to work on trees, and this is not his first try at it. more

Today the job is a pine tree. His owner calls him over, points out a branch and asks the question that matters most to Elwood. "Is it tasty?" His owner calls it "yummy" more than once, so the answer seems to be yes.

"Are you trimming a pine tree for me?" his owner asks, and then turns into a foreman. Trim that pine tree. Good boy. Trim some more. Trim another branch. The pep talk hardly stops for breath.

Halfway through, Elwood stops and stares off at something. "What are you looking at?" It's the neighbor. His owner sets him straight right away. The neighbors, it turns out, are "not nearly as delicious as the pine tree."

Getting him back to work takes a few tries. Look at this branch, look at this branch, trim that. "You're not paying attention today," his owner says, which is about as stern as it gets. Then it's good boy, good job, a call for more yard work and a cheerful "say bye-bye."
