When the dog from "Up" talks to real kids
On an autumn playground, a golden retriever in a collar that lets him talk makes his plans clear. He's on a mission to meet new friends. more
It's a hidden camera stunt from Oh My Disney. A real dog plays the talking golden retriever from Pixar's "Up," and the families at the park get to meet him. He explains the voice himself. It's the collar that lets him talk.
He knows how to take a scratch. "Oh, I love that spot," he says, and when the hand wanders somewhere else, that becomes "the new best spot." He also wants it known that he does not like the cone of shame.
SaveThe kids are amused and a little in awe. He calls one of them "tiny human" and starts handing out compliments. He likes a gray shirt. He tells someone they smell very nice today, and gets a polite "thank you" back.
SaveThe grown-ups come around too, and before long the whole park seems convinced. Then the dog has to excuse himself to go find a stick, and the goodbye comes with an "I love you."
SaveSmall voices call out bye-bye, and he answers, "Goodbye, tiny human." It doesn't stick. Almost at once he changes his mind. "Okay, I'm coming back."
SaveThen a ball comes out. It gets thrown, he promises he will get it back, and the second it is returned, someone throws it again. A talking dog, it turns out, plays fetch exactly like a quiet one.
