How a tar-soaked puppy got her health back

She was three months old when she wandered onto a street under construction and ended up covered in tar. more

The people who lived nearby didn't know what to do. They thought she wouldn't make it. When the rescuers at Animal Aid Unlimited, a rescue group in India, heard about her, they went straight out to get her.

They brought her indoors and laid her on a yellow cloth. Her coat was black and dark brown, burnt-looking in places. Under all that tar was a very small dog.

Getting well took time. She grew stronger a little at a time, indoors and out of danger.

By the end she is a happy puppy, full of affection for the people who helped her. She can't seem to thank them enough.
