Duck the cat gets around like a tiny T-rex
Duck was a kitten when her front legs got caught, most likely in a car engine. To save her life, a vet clinic had to remove them both. more
The clinic belongs to her owner's sister, and she brought the kitten over for him to foster. That plan didn't last. He decided to keep her and named her Duck.
At first she waddled, taking it slow while she worked out her balance. She got the hang of standing almost right away. Getting used to the different floors around the house took a little longer.
Now she runs all over the house standing fully upright. Picture a T-rex the size of a house cat and you have the idea. Losing her front legs hasn't slowed her down one bit, and her owner figures that since it happened so young, she doesn't know any better.
SaveShe has lots of energy and is always getting into something. Her owner's trick for catching a kitten like that is a bag. Set it on the floor, give it a little shake, and there she is.
Duck is obsessed with the family's French bulldog. There are three dogs in the house, and the frenchie had been a bit of a third wheel, feeling left out. Then Duck came home, and the two took to each other right away.
They spend their days together, lying around and playing. Duck does her best to wash her own face, which is hard without a front paw. Usually the frenchie comes over and cleans it for her, and then she cleans the frenchie's face right back.
SaveThe two are close to inseparable, and Duck has fit right into the pack. "How could you not love her?" her owner says.
