Two pet otters try eggs and one is not a fan
Hana and Kotaro are pet otters with firm opinions about food. An egg on the dining table is about to sort them into two camps. more
The egg sits on the table and both otters come to look. Kotaro sniffs it and loses interest fast. Hana climbs up, takes it in both paws, rolls it around and sniffs every inch of it. It's their first egg, and she's not letting it go without a full inspection.
SaveTheir person decides the egg should become an omelet. Hana is excited by the whole idea. Kotaro is not so sure.
Out comes the omelet on a white plate, rolled up like a little log. Kotaro sniffs it and heads straight back to the dining table. Hana stays with the plate and gives it a long look, long enough to make anyone wonder if otters like eggs after all.
SaveThen come the tiny pieces. Kotaro sniffs and turns his head. Hana thinks about it longer than he does, then passes too. Their person gives up and gets out the chicken, which is what the otters wanted all along.
Here's the trick. Chicken pieces and omelet pieces go into the same pile. Two otter noses sort it out in seconds. The chicken disappears and the omelet stays right where it was.
SaveA box of quail eggs comes out next. At first they are toys. Boiled, they're a different story, at least for Hana, who dives in. Kotaro tries one bite and looks like he regrets it. Hana is happy to finish his share.
SaveThe day ends in the pool. Hana swims the bottom gathering quail eggs in her paws. Kotaro swims underwater and leaves the eggs to her. Then he gets hold of the camera, and some of the underwater shots are his.
