A baby sloth, his stuffed twin and a quick kiss
B-rad is a baby three-toed sloth, smaller than most baby sloths, with button eyes that make him look like a stuffed toy. more
He lives at Kids Saving the Rainforest, a wildlife sanctuary in Costa Rica. The staff think he may have been underfed in the wild, which could be part of why he fell out of a tree. Now they are feeding him up so he can grow bigger and stronger.
SaveCoyote Peterson, from the Brave Wilderness channel, gets to hold him. B-rad gives him a high-three with the three claws sloths use to climb. Then he spots the cowboy hat on Coyote's head and looks ready to climb that too. Coyote talks him back down to his stuffed sloth.
Someone asks if that's a sloth teddy bear. "This is a stuffed sloth, a plush sloth and a real sloth," Coyote says. B-rad climbs all over the plush one and keeps his little hands moving, so much that one fan said he looks like he is working up the nerve to ask someone to prom. For an animal famous for being slow, he's a busy little guy.
The moment people love most is when he stops to scratch his head. Soon after, Coyote tries the high squeak that baby sloths make. "I can speak sloth," he says. B-rad leans in close and gives him a kiss.
SaveLunch is a cecropia leaf, and B-rad goes right for it. He eats so gently that he almost seems to be nursing on it. Coyote can't decide which is cuter, the baby sloth or the baby sloth eating a leaf. Later, B-rad stops to give his arm a good scratch.
In a few months, with luck, he'll be back in the rainforest. For now, he lets out one big yawn and looks ready for a nap.
