Before chemo, Laura swaps long hair for a pixie

Laura has always had long hair. With chemotherapy ahead and hair loss a real chance, she decides short hair will be easier to handle once treatment starts. more

So she sits down at the Pierre Michel Salon in New York with stylist Jerome Lordet, who has agreed to give her a new look. Someone runs a comb through her side bangs and she smiles. Still, at first she seems a bit unsure about going short, and more than a foot of hair is about to go.

Jerome has a plan. He thinks a layered pixie cut will suit her face, and he starts cutting. One viewer calls the haircut itself satisfying, and another writes that it's rare to see a stylist this good.

The long lengths come off and the layers take shape. A makeup artist works on her as well, so the change goes past the hair. Bit by bit, the doubt on Laura's face gives way.

By the end she loves it, and you can see it in her smile. The short cut shows off her face and her eyes, and one viewer can't get over how shiny her hair is. Several others say she could pass for Anne Hathaway.
