Never ask Betty White to fill in the blank
Steve Harvey sets up a little Match Game and reads out the first blank. Betty White fills it with something he never saw coming. more
The Real Housewives, he reads, should be called blank. "The neighborhood hookers," she says, then backs up just far enough to add, "I mean that in a nice way." Harvey isn't a man who laughs easily, and he's already cracking up.
The next one sounds safer. She never goes to bed without "my golden retriever." Then comes the only thing she hasn't done in Hollywood, and her answer is "Robert Redford." Harvey doubles over.
If she weren't acting, she would be a zookeeper. Then she corrects herself, because she already is one. She works with the Los Angeles Zoo "and every zoo wherever I go," she says. "I'm an animal nut."
The one thing she can't live without is love, and this time she is not joking. "I'm a positive thinker, not a negative thinker," she says, and she likes everybody to like each other. Along the way it turns out the two share a birthday, January 17. Muhammad Ali's name comes up as another one, which gets the reply, "I never fought him. I would remember if I had."
Harvey saves his favorite for last. Steve Harvey is blank. "Dynamite," she says, and she means it, because he likes people and isn't trying to trap them or trick them into dumb questions. Then she adds that he can't help it that his questions are dumb. "Forgive me, I tease."
SaveThey hug. Harvey tells her his prayer is to live as long, as healthy and as sharp as she's at 92. "Oh, bless your heart," she says. A lot of viewers say she reminds them of a grandmother, the kind who teases you first and hugs you after.
