Ginger cat lets baby ducks nap in her basket
Nobody told the ducklings that the ginger cat is a cat. They settled on her as their mother, and she has decided to let it stand. more
She's an orange and white tabby with a lot of patience, and she needs all of it. The yellow fluff follows her everywhere she goes. In her wicker basket they press in close around her and stay, because that's where they feel safe.
Nap time is where it gets funny. The cat is fast asleep. The ducklings chirp around her and try, several times, to get her up for a game. Nothing works, so they give up and go to sleep against her instead.
SaveThe kittens in the house get their turn too. One duckling wanders over to two of them, settles into the gap between them, and falls asleep right there.
Another kitten, small and orange, ends up face to face with two ducklings. The three of them sit nose to beak, looking each other over.
SaveThree more ducklings hop into a bamboo basket to play with their cat friend. Two kittens sitting by the door get a visit too, and soon they are all playing. When the games run out, the ducklings pile up for a sleep beside whichever cat is handy.
The cats aren't the only ones they visit. The ducklings wander over to the two bunnies and gather around the rabbits' feeding baskets, with hay all over the floor. A fluffy rabbit sits among them and has no objection.
SaveNo one in this house has read the rules about cats and birds. The ducklings go where it's warm, and a sleeping cat is the warmest spot in the room. She doesn't seem to mind. Most of the time she keeps right on sleeping.
