The tiniest of 10 kittens has the strongest purr
Ten kittens turned up in a man's garden. Their mother was there too, and she was badly wounded. more
Diana, the mother, needed life-saving surgery, and Cool Cats Rescue AZ gave it to her. Her wound came from a collar that had grown into her skin. She is going to be okay. Her kittens stayed with the man who found them, and he had some feeding to do.
Ten kittens is a lot of mouths. While their mom heals, each one gets a food supplement from a bottle. They're really too old to be bottle-fed, but the bottle makes the supplement easier to give. One at a time, each kitten is wrapped in a blanket on his lap and held upright, at about 80 degrees, the way a bottle-fed kitten should be.
The feedings come with a lot of purring. Several of the kittens are black and look a lot alike, so three different ones can take a turn before you notice the change. One tortoiseshell kitten is easier to spot, and she's a girl.
The tiniest of the litter is a girl too. She gets a high-calorie supplement to help her grow. For all her size, she has the strongest purr of all her siblings. He thinks he has a favorite.
SaveA little later, the kittens have grown a bit, and they play with him on his bed. Everyone is adjusting well. One big, happy family, as he puts it.
