Teen swing dancers take Queen for a spin

Swing dance and Queen sound like an odd couple. At the US Open Swing Dance Championships, teenagers Ryan Boz and Karla Catan put them together anyway. more

Their song is "We Will Rock You," and their routine won't stay in one style. Swing footwork, ballet lines and bits of hip hop all share the floor. The pair keep switching from one to the next, and the old rock song holds it all together.

Flags from many countries hang behind them. One of the dancers wears a gold leotard and white pants, and she smiles as she moves. One fan's whole comment was a cheer for their lines.

Near the end the music takes a turn. A remix lays Freddie Mercury's voice over rap music, and it sounds as good as the dancing looks.

The judges gave Ryan and Karla second place. Someone in the comments thought the two were grown adults until turning the phone brightness all the way up. For a pair of teenagers, that may be the best review of all.
