Dachshund drags a big teddy bear into his kennel

Arvo the dachshund has a small kennel and a very large teddy bear. At bedtime, he wants both in the same place. more

Plenty of dogs live for a squeaky toy or a ball. Arvo is a stuffed-animal dog, and this oversized plush bear is the one he is set on. The kennel he sleeps in, though, is sized for one small dachshund and nothing else.

Arvo's mom has her camera running when it starts. The brown bear sits on the rug in front of the white kennel, and Arvo is nowhere in sight. That's because he's already inside, getting to work.

Then the bear begins to move. A small dog in a small box is pulling in a bear that was never meant to fit through that door, and it looks less like bedtime than a teddy bear hostage case. The bear, for its part, wears a face that says it didn't agree to any of this.

Anyone who has lived with a dachshund knows how this ends. He doesn't quit, and the bear goes in. How much room that leaves for Arvo, and how he plans to get back out, are problems for the morning.
