A puma named Messi has a very short five minutes
Sasha is at his laptop in the living room, trying to get some work done. Then his puma, Messi, walks in, and Sasha knows right away where this is heading. more
Pets are the classic distraction for anyone who works at home. Most of them are a good deal smaller than Messi. Sasha's partner sums it up well enough: daddy has to work, and Messi has no idea what to do with himself.
SaveSasha makes an offer. "Please, wait five more minutes and I'll come back to you." It is a fair deal. The trouble is that Messi does not have the best sense of time.
Seconds later, Messi is back. "Messi, it's not even five minutes yet," Sasha tells him. "You have a very short five minutes."
SaveBeing told off does not slow Messi down. If anything, it spurs him on. First comes a lick on Sasha's hand. When that gets nowhere, a big puma head moves in right in front of the screen.
That does it. Sasha gives up on work, lies down on the floor with his oversized cat and opens the laptop to something much better, Messi's favorite, Garfield.
SaveMessi wants a closer look, and Sasha pleads with him to go easy on the laptop. "It's fragile, you can't do that." Garfield, he points out, is a ginger cat just like Messi. Soon the puma is nose to nose with the screen.
SaveFans of this part say Messi seems to worry about Garfield, and some think he would rather jump in and play. He does manage to close the cartoon tab, so Sasha has to put it back. "You just never watch it to the end," he sighs. The work, meanwhile, can wait behind Garfield.
