Baby bunnies nap on Bailey the golden retriever

Bailey is a golden retriever. To the rescued baby rabbits who share his room, he's also a groomer and the softest bed in the house. more

The rabbits were rescued, and they're only 22 days old. They have a cozy bedroom with purple pillows and black furniture, and a golden retriever who has made them part of his family.

Bailey grooms them. When they huddle together in a little heap of fur, he rests his head right beside them and stays put.

At bedtime the rabbits don't bother with a bed of their own. They go to sleep on top of Bailey, tucked into his long golden fur, and he lies there and lets them.

To one fan he looks a little tired lying there, and people have fun with that. In the favorite joke, the bunnies say Mommy, Bailey says no, the bunnies say Mommy again, and Bailey says okay. Someone else worries about the day he has to tell them they are adopted.

Not everyone in the room is sleepy. There's one bored little bunny who will not let anybody nap. A small bird turns up too, and one of the bunnies keeps going over to say hello. The bird looks on as if something here doesn't quite add up.

At one point Bailey looks straight ahead, tongue out and nose wet. He has the easy face of a babysitter on a break.

One fan predicts that when these animals grow up, they're going to make world peace. For now they're making do with a nap, piled together on a very patient golden retriever.
