Kira is 6, her Papa is 81, and every morning they meet in the street for a dance-off. Neither one comes to lose. more

The dance-offs started when the virus kept the family apart. Visits were off the table, so the two of them found something they could do from a safe distance. Kira's mom, Sherrie, filmed them.

Papa takes it seriously. Sherrie had never seen her dad dance before, and now he's putting real work into his moves, out on the driveway in a blue corduroy jacket.

Kira has her own plan. She drops into floor moves that no 81-year-old should attempt.

The family resemblance shows up in the dancing. They move alike, as if the steps were handed down. Sherrie says Kira loves her Papa, and it's easy to see.
