Adam Levine is riding to work on The Voice set with Blake Shelton. Before the car even moves, he calls it a terrible idea. more

Blake, for his part, is thrilled. He shows up with soup, and he wants it understood that it is his soup.

The ride to The Voice set begins, soup and all.

Within a minute they disagree about which way the studio is. Then one of them gets into the other's phone, and the owner wants to know how anyone could have his passcode. That shouldn't even be possible.

Someone has tweeted at them. The question for Blake is what he would do if the two of them woke up one day in each other's bodies. His answer is a trip to one of those tattoo removal places.

Asked what he would do if the two of them swapped bodies, Blake thinks of tattoo removal.

A lane change starts a debate. Blake holds that a turn signal needs five blinks, because that's what he learned in driver's ed. Adam's reply is that there are "five people where you come from." It is the line viewers quote more than any other.

When Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" comes on the radio, the bickering stops. Adam plays the air drums while Blake plays guitar on the steering wheel, and Blake decides they should sing it as a duet on The Voice. Adam takes a moment, then he's all in, and they trade lines until one of them is sick of the song.

A rock song on the radio turns the commute into a jam session and a pitch for a duet.

Now they're almost late, or right on time, depending on who you ask. A route that most people don't know about turns out not to be the best route, so the next idea is a shortcut through an alley.

Somewhere in there, Blake drops his string cheese. Then a notepad comes out, and one of them wants to know what the writing in it even means. "You wouldn't understand," comes the answer. "It's English."

At last they pull up, and Adam says that next time he is going by himself. Blake won't hear of it. "You had fun," he says. "Admit it." The reply is "Finally, this is over."
