A family reunion for four foster kittens

Four foster kittens are playing at a cozy cat sanctuary. The four older cats who live there are about to be reunited with them, and they're family. more

The kittens are Tilly, Lando, Pistachio and Nimoy, and they spend the afternoon at play. A tabby with white markings stretches out on a striped rug, one paw lifted beside a whiskered cheek.

The house also belongs, in the way houses belong to cats, to four older residents named Gungi, Quark, Willow and D’Argo. They were adopted into this home earlier, and they're the kittens' older siblings. It's one family that came in off the streets and reached this door in two groups.

Then the two halves meet. There's a little hesitation at first, then a few slow steps and some soft meows. Gungi, the elder of the group, welcomes the kittens into the fold, and Tilly purrs.

The person filming says little and lets the cats run the show. One line is “what's up, I hear somebody.” Another is a quick report that the litter box “is working out really nice.” At a working sanctuary, the practical wins count too.

In the soft afternoon light, eight cats share the room. A purr here, a nuzzle there, and a family that came here in two halves is together again.
