Guilty pit bull hides behind Dachshund brother
Someone in this garden has chewed up an insole. The grey pit bull knows exactly who, and he would rather look at the fence than say. more
Daniel Martino has two dogs and one ruined insole. Moto-moto is the grey pit bull with the white chest and the blue collar, and his brother Oddie is a black and tan Dachshund with long floppy ears. The questions begin in Spanish, in a stern voice, and Moto-moto drifts over to the metal fence.
SaveHe'll not look up. At the fence he can face anything except his owner, and as the questions keep coming, he can't work out where to put himself.
So he goes down. He lowers himself onto the dirt beside the fence, head down, and flattens out as much as a pit bull can flatten. It's the posture of a dog who would like to be part of the wall.
SaveThe first dog asked by name is Oddie. "It was you, Oddie?" The Dachshund holds his ground and looks on, and nothing about him gives his brother away. Whatever the little dog knows, he's not telling.
Then the owner turns to the pit bull. "I am talking to you, Mister," he says, the way you might speak to a grown man who should know better. "You chewed up my insole, right?" It sounds like this isn't the first pair of shoes to suffer, either.
Moto-moto's answer is to tuck himself behind his brother, which would work better if a Dachshund were bigger than a pit bull. He stays there anyway.
SaveThrough all of it the owner never really gets angry. He keeps the tough voice going for the whole minute, then turns to the Dachshund with the last word. "You are an accomplice in all of this." The look on Oddie's face says, more or less, why me.
