Meet Cedric, the Longhaired Chihuahua who keeps watch over the cart.

This outing covers a pet supply store and a garden center in Canada, where the plants run from orchids to the carnivorous kind. One thing strikes his mom as a bit creepy. Another, she says, is like an alien.

His mom, a keen gardener, talks over a few kinds of seeds with someone who works there and buys them. Cedric keeps watch over the cart, and she stops to tell him, "Great job, Cedric." His fans agree and call him a good helper.

Mom does the shopping.

Then she finds the cute things, little planters shaped like animals. She picks out a dog, a turtle and a snail. On the way out she admits they spent way too much money.

Back home, the snow is almost gone and the new planters have their spots. The dog holds a string of pearls. The turtle holds a plant called string of turtles. The snail got a baby plant that grows very slowly, which is why a snail seemed right.

Then she walks through the rest of her plants. There are succulent babies and a jade that is one of her oldest plants. The biggest is an umbrella tree.

Cedric, off duty, has found a cozy spot of his own. He had a long day, his mom says, and now he's having a nap. Tucked into his blanket, he looks a bit like one more fuzzy thing in a planter, which didn't escape his fans.
