Meet Meaty, the pit bull with the giant grin

Meaty came home from a shelter already wearing the grin. His people could tell that the pit bull was happy to have a home of his own. more

Pit bulls get a hard time. Plenty of people give them a wide berth, and some cross to the other side of the road when one comes along. Meaty's answer to all of that is his face.

The grin is enormous. It stretches wide across his light brown face, above a white chest, and it may be the widest anyone has seen on a dog. Anyone who still says dogs don't really smile hasn't met Meaty.

He's pampered, and he knows it. His humans cuddle and snuggle him whenever the mood strikes, and they like to dress him up. There's a teddy bear outfit for Valentine's Day, and there are formal clothes for the day he helps show off an engagement.

Most people who see him lose their composure over that face. One of the top replies just wants to kiss it. Another person admits to being afraid of pit bulls once and loving them now.

Meaty never makes a case for his breed. He just grins at whoever is in front of him, and they tend to grin right back.
