Husky on mail duty, with snack breaks
This Siberian husky is 22 months old and very sure the next treat belongs to him. First, he has some jobs to do. more
The opening tricks are the easy ones. His dad asks for a sit, then says "bang," and down goes the husky. A "good boy" follows, and so does a snack.
SaveSit and lay down are where it gets wobbly. He's so locked onto the next snack that the commands have to be repeated, and at one point his dad settles for "sit, lay down, whatever, good boy." He also rolls over and shakes a paw, with more bounce than polish.
Now for the real job. Sent to get the mail, he has to be asked three times, but he goes to the door slot and brings it back. It looks like junk mail, which is the best kind to hand to a dog.
SaveThe trash is next. His dad asks him to put it in the bin, then asks again, and again, and once more. He takes his time, but the trash goes in.
He jumps when asked and gets two "I love you"s for it. After that comes the hardest trick for a hungry dog. He has to sit and wait while his dad counts out loud.
SaveHuskies have a name for being stubborn, and this one is no polished stage act. Still, for a dog who would much rather be eating, he gets through nearly every job on the list.
The best part comes last. The person holding the camera chimes in with a "good boy" too. The husky turns his head and stares, with the face of a dog who had no idea anyone else was in the room.
