The husky who scratches the carpet instead

An itch that won't quit has found Key the Siberian husky. He's sprawled on the living room carpet, and he would like to stay that way. more

So he scratches, just not himself. He gives the carpet a good going-over while the itch stays right where it was. "Did you know you're just itching carpet?" his person asks.

Help is on offer. "Should I get it for you?" A little hunting turns up the spot, and Key's back leg starts going again, kicking away like a leg that has stopped taking orders.

An itch that won't quit has found Key the Siberian husky.

"You're so lazy," his human tells him. "Why can't you itch it?" Key makes a half-hearted try of his own, then flops back down.

After a lazy try at the itch himself, Key goes back to lying still.

Next he lies back and shows off a big fluffy belly. "Is that so I can reach your belly better?" His person offers to do all his itches for him, and Key doesn't argue.

"I think that itchy bit is gone," his person says at last. "Wow, your seasonal allergies are finally finished." The spot that used to set his back leg going was a bad summer itch, and now it's gone. "Yay for winter," comes the cheer, "or autumn."

Then it's the ears' turn. For a husky billed as a stunt dog, it's a pretty good trick. All he has to do is lie there and let someone else find the itch.
