Found by the railway, an old dog starts over
Bobi is an old white dog wandering near a railway station in Romania, close enough to the trains to scare the people watching him. more
The people watching are from Howl of a Dog, a non-profit rescue group in Romania that finds homes for dogs in other countries. Their first worry is a passing train. Their second is their own safety, so nobody rushes him.
SaveIt takes a lot of coaxing and some tasty treats to lure Bobi to a safer spot. Once he is there, the team can get close enough to look him over and bring him in for a full check-up.
Everyone assumes he is one more street dog. Then they find a microchip. Bobi has a family, and he's about nine miles from home.
It should have been a simple phone call. Instead, his owners say they no longer want him, and it seems Bobi ran away. That call is the part viewers can't get past. The most-liked comment is an offer to go have a word with his old owner.
Bobi is in bad shape, too. He cannot see out of one eye, and he has clearly not been well cared for. The rescue team takes him on anyway, and before long they have him healthy again and enjoying life.
SaveOld as he is, Bobi doesn't lack admirers. Many people come forward to adopt the gentle, friendly old fellow who was found walking alone by the tracks.
SavePeople who followed his story say he went to a family in Delaware, with two new buddies and a spot in front of the fireplace for his naps. After the railway, he has earned it.
