Rey, a 29-ounce baby goat with puppy ears
Born on Star Wars Day and named Rey, this baby goat weighs all of 29 ounces. Her ears look like they were borrowed from a terrier. more
Rey is the smallest of four siblings at Sunflower Farm Creamery. Most goats are on the stocky side, and nobody would mistake their faces for a dog's. Rey is another story.
It starts with her face. She has big, expressive eyes and floppy ears that hang down like a puppy's. The farm has dogs of its own, and at a glance she could pass for one more of them.
SaveThen there are her legs, dark from the knees down, as if she pulled on a pair of black knee socks. She gets around in quick little hops, often sideways, the way baby goats do.
The hay is her playground. Rey jumps around on it to see how high she can get, and she makes it all the way to the top of a bale.
SaveSooner or later, even Rey has to sit down. She settles on the wooden planks and looks right back at you with those big eyes.
SaveGoats are known for big, outgoing personalities, and Rey has one. It just comes in a package that weighs less than two pounds, socks included.
