He walked right up to the French couple and decided they were his. He was a small British Shorthair, brown and white tabby, with a dark patch under his nose shaped exactly like a mustache, the kind a man would wax and twirl. Romain and Sabrine didn't stand a chance.

They named him O'gringo. The mustache does most of the talking. People who see him want to hand him a monocle and a top hat, and some see a wise old professor, or the little rich man from the Monopoly box. He purrs, too, and one admirer swears he smiles while he does it.

At home there was one more heart to win. Milko, the family's cat, was there first. It took no time at all. The two were fast friends, and before long they were getting into mischief together around the house.

O'gringo doesn't have to do much. Set him on the wooden floor by the rug and the mustache handles the rest. Romain and Sabrine planned none of this and came home with a cat in a mustache. Milko never asked for a little brother and got one anyway. The two of them have been plotting ever since.
