Find the pet fox in his pile of plushies

Somewhere in this heap of plush toys there is a real fox. His name is Fawzi, and the only things that give him away are two very large ears. more

Fawzi is a Rüppell's sand fox, and the room he is in looks like it was set up just for foxes. He's parked in a basket among his plushies, and from a few steps away he is one more stuffed animal in the pile.

Fawzi settles into his basket of toys and is hard to tell from them.

Mikayla Raines of the Save a Fox Sanctuary talks to him the way you would talk to a toddler. "Are you a toy?" she asks. "Can you talk?" He can. Fawzi makes low little sounds while she pets him, she copies them, and he answers again.

He's not getting up for anyone. The toys are too comfortable and he is too settled in. But when she leans down to kiss him, he kisses her right back, and when the petting keeps going he rolls onto his back like a dog asking for a belly rub.

"Go back to your naps," she finally tells him. "I got things to do." On her way out she leaves one more plushie for his collection, "'cause I love you." The fox who wouldn't get up finds his energy all at once and goes to work on the new ball.

Most people watching can't get past those ears, which one viewer calls radar dishes. The top comment gets the last word: these plushies get more and more realistic every day.
