A mini donkey and his giant screaming chicken
The mail has just brought the biggest screaming chickens one woman has ever seen. There are two of them, and both are for her donkey. more
"Well, hello, donkey," she says. "Look what just came in the mail." He stretches his head up over the top of his pen to get a better look.
First comes the lesson, with just one chicken for now. "You squeeze it, and then when you let go, it screams," she tells him, and gives it a squeeze to prove it. He answers with a loud bray of his own.
She tosses it into his pen. He does not go for it. He comes to her first for a little petting, and only then turns around to find his chicken. That small pause is the part people love most.
After that, it is all play. He picks the chicken up in his mouth and squeezes, and out comes a scream. He trots in circles with it, squeezing and shaking his head, and at one point rears up on his back legs, still braying.
SaveOne person says he plays it like a musical instrument. Another swears he wags his tail like a dog. As someone else put it, two of the most annoying sounds in the world somehow turn cute when you put them together.
She admits she meant to save the gift for the morning. "I just couldn't wait." And since there are two, she points out, he has a backup if this one gets messed up.
The chickens came from a woman who thought of him. "It was very sweet of her to send that," she says. "We appreciate it, don't we?"
