Lucy is horrified by her own fart
Lucy is a 7-month-old white German shepherd, and by her owner's count she had many, many farts on this particular day. more
She looks innocent enough. Lucy sits beside a wooden cabinet with her tongue out and her tall ears up, glancing off to one side.
SaveSomewhere in all that sitting, one of those farts arrives, and her face changes. Her owner's words for the look are horrified confusion, and they fit. It's the face of a dog who has just been ambushed by something she can't see.
SaveHer owner said she was amazed to catch it on video at all, and that the look on Lucy's face is the priceless part. In another moment she sits square to the camera, ears up and calm, the very picture of a dog with nothing to hide.
SaveDogs digest food much the way people do, so the gas is no illusion. When a dog is very gassy, diet may be behind it. Low-quality dog food, table scraps and lactose, the sugar in milk, are all possible culprits.
Whatever Lucy had eaten, it kept her busy. And for once, anyone who blamed the dog would be right.
