Mama bear rests while Patrick shoos her cubs
Early in the morning, Simone walks out of the forest with her two cubs, Milo and Luca. The cubs know just where they want to go. more
They're grown up now, but the brothers still stick close to their mother. Up Patrick's stairs they go and onto the porch railing, the spot where they like to rest whenever the family drops by. Luca sniffs at the ceiling fan and then wanders over to Patrick, while Milo heads back down to his mom.
Luca wants to play, and he's a bit too curious. Patrick steers him off the porch and out to the front yard, and the cub looks a little surprised. Then Patrick turns to Simone and asks her to tell her kids to settle down.
Simone answers by scratching herself and staying right where she is, in the grass. She looks worn out, and Patrick figures she is close to the point of sending the boys off to summer camp and forgetting to pick them up.
SaveSo Patrick shuts the porch gate and locks it, and he tells the cubs he is sorry for ignoring them. That doesn't settle anything. Luca and Milo try one way after another to get back up while their mother keeps resting. Milo reaches for Patrick's toes again and again, and Luca works at the door with no luck.
The surprise here is Simone. A man is shooing her cubs off his porch, and she doesn't seem bothered at all. Getting close to a bear cub while the mother is nearby is supposed to be a very bad idea. She seems to trust Patrick anyway.
SaveIn the end one cub makes it up onto the porch, then climbs right back down. His mom and brother have already gone. So he turns and walks back into the forest too.
