Pool day for a black bear and her two cubs

Somebody in Texas has a nice pool behind a fence. In the middle of a heat wave, a mother black bear and her two cubs sneak in for a swim anyway. more

Soon all three are in the clear blue water with green trees all around, three dark heads above the surface. The two cubs splash and play together the way two kids would.

In fairness to the bears, there's a carving of a bear climbing a tree right there in the yard. A couple of viewers decided that settled it, and the pool was clearly meant for bears.

Mom does what plenty of parents do at the pool. She settles into a corner and lets the cubs have their fun, keeping an eye on them the whole time. More than one viewer said she looks just like a human parent watching her kids swim.

Before long one bear is up and walking along the edge of the pool while another is still in the water. Then the family heads for the fence and climbs back over it, quickly and casually, as if nothing happened.

The bears don't mess anything up. They swim, and they go. The Goldilocks jokes came fast, including a guess that the water was just right. The real surprise for one person was that the fence held the weight of a bear, and another thanked the pool owners for bearing with them.
