A fox, a Border Collie puppy and the giggles

Mala is a fox, and Fauna is a Border Collie puppy. When the two meet on the grass, Mala starts to giggle and can't seem to stop. more

Fauna takes it calmly. She's only a puppy, yet she waits and lets Mala come to her, and soon their faces are almost touching. Mala sniffs the puppy's face. Fauna doesn't flinch.

The sounds are the best part. Mala giggles and chatters like a toddler, one happy noise tumbling after another. People who follow her say they have never heard her this talkative.

Then she lies down beside Fauna and just looks at her, like an aunt meeting a new baby. She's the same with any little one, puppy or fox.

Once the sniffing is done, it's time to play. The two chase each other around the grass in a game of tag. Fauna even rolls onto her back and shows her belly, about as much trust as a puppy can give.
