A husky with strong opinions on the forecast
K’eyush, Key to his family, would like some snow. The weather forecast on the TV keeps saying rain. more
Key is a Husky-Malamute cross who lives with Jodi Bernard and her family in Brixham, Devon. Jodi and her grandmother are relaxing in the living room with the forecast on. Key is lying on the floor nearby, listening.
SaveHe's a dog with a lot to say, and Jodi is the one who translates. In this house, a woof is rarely just a woof.
Key doesn't like what he hears. The forecaster talks about rain and mild days up to 16 degrees Celsius, and nothing about snow. His first reply is one short woof. The weatherman keeps talking, and so does Key, with a long, worked-up string of barks that leaves no doubt where he stands on rain.
SaveThen the ads come on, and his mood turns. Key likes the ads, and he gives them a low howl of approval.
The peace doesn't last. As soon as the weather report returns, the whining starts, and he seems to debate every word. Asked if he likes the rain, he gives a grumpy answer that sounds a lot like no.
SaveKey doesn't hate weather, exactly. He just wants the forecast to say snow. In a country where people love to grumble about the weather, he fits right in.
