Two stray dogs split up, and both get saved
For months, two dogs have been getting by on the street together. The rescuers find them hiding under a car in a parking lot, and one of them has a hurt paw. more
Someone had called Hope For Paws about the pair. Then, all at once, the two dogs bolt in different directions, and the one with the sore paw slips onto someone else's property.
So they start with the dog they can reach. At first it is just talk. "Good girl, good girl, good girl," a rescuer says. "Such a pretty smile."
Then come a few rough seconds of "No, no, no" and "Stop, stop, stop." At one point, now on a red leash, she presses her face to a glass window and looks inside. Then the words turn to "It's okay, it's okay," and soon someone says "Hold her."
SaveOnce she settles, the mood changes fast. "She's cute," someone says. A helper is told to put an arm around her and see if she's comfortable with that, and then it's off to the car.
That still leaves the injured dog, who's scared now and a good way off. The search ends on a private property, and the rescuers thank the people there for letting them in.
This time they want the dog to go to one spot. A rescuer asks a helper to come around from the other side, so the dog will walk into the trash area. It works, and the second dog is caught too.
SaveBoth dogs are safe now, and Hope For Paws named them Aurora and Anna. Comment after comment asks the same thing of whoever adopts them: please take them both.
